Self Help Graphics Board meets with the Coalition of Concerned Citizens for Self Help Graphics at Ave. 50 Gallery in Highland Park on Tuesday, June 28 at 7pm.

Artists and concerned community members sign in at the Self Help Graphics community meeting at Avenue 50 Studio in Highland Park.

Attendees included Chon Noriega, Alma Lopez, Ricardo Duffy, Judy Baca, Maria Elena Gaytan, Leo Limon, Pocha Peña, Gustavo LeClerc, Barbara Carrasco and Harry, Linda and Diane Gamboa.

Over 200 people attended the three-hour meeting.

Avenue 50 gallery was filled to capacity wth artists expressing their concern and commitment to helping Self-Help Graphics out of its current crisis.

Self Help Board members address the crowd and provide answers to the commmunity regarding budget, insurance, fundraising, staff and the changing of the locks at Self Help Graphics.

Community members take the lead in demanding full disclosure and accountability from the Board.

The Self Help Graphics Board listens to commitments of assistance from artists, community members and peer organizations.

Artists and community members are encouraged by the Board's willingness to work with them to find a solution to the crisis. Nearly $850 is raised in less than ten minutes by passing the hat.
