The SOCC was originally formed in 2000 in order to address a conflict at the Centro Cultural de La Raza in San Diego.  As a result of the successful community efforts to return the Centro to its community founders, the 7-Year SOCC Boycott was lifted on April 21, 2007.  Today, the Centro Cultural de La Raza is back on track as a thriving community center in San Diego's historic Balboa Park.
